HOW THE ABSORBENCY WORKS

4-LAYER-TECHNOLOGY

The POM technology is both simple and leading edge. POM Period Underwear has a 4-layer absorbent technology that keeps you leak-free. With cotton-wicking, anti-odour, and leakproof technology built into it.

LAYER 1 - ABSORBING

The first layer material is made from cotton which is moisture-wicking and absorbs liquid very quickly. It is also made with a SilverClear® additive. SilverClear is a highly efficient antimicrobial, bactericidal and anti-odour solution. It is ecological, safe and non-toxic. It effectively destroys the bacteria, mould and fungi that cause odour, discolouration and degradation of garments, helping them to also last longer.

LAYER 2 - LIQUID STORAGE

The second layer material is terry fabric, 70% cotton, 30% polyester.  The function is to further absorb and hold liquid.

LAYER 3. - LEAK-PROOF

The third layer material is TPU fabric, 100% polyester. The function is anti-leaking, providing a leak-proof layer. It does this by pushing the liquid back up so it does not seep through to the outer layer.

LAYER 4 - COMFY OUTER FABRIC

The fourth layer material is either cotton or an organic bamboo fabric both very comfortable and breathable meaning they are soft on your skin.

LEVELS OF PERIOD UNDERWEAR ABSORBENCIES

  • LIGHT

    Holds 5 mls / 1 tsp = 1 regular tampon or 1 light pad

    Perfect for light bleeding, spotting and end-of-period wear, and also for working out giving you no VPL. They can absorb for up to 8 hours.

  • MEDIUM

    Holds 10 mls / 2 tsp = 2 to 3 tampons or 1.5 pads

    For medium period daily use & light bladder leakage. They absorb for up to 8-12 hours. Depending on your flow 1 or 2 moderate flow period underwear will give you total peace of mind.

  • HEAVY

    Holds 15 mls / 3 tsp = 3 tampons or 1.5 overnight pad

    For heavier period days and are perfect for nights with our maximum coverage and absorbency of 3 tampons. They’ll absorb for 8-12 hours.

    Teen (XS) - can hold 18 mls / 3.5 regular tampons / 1.5 super tampons

    Small - can hold 25 mls / 5 regular tampons / 2 super tampons

    Large - can hold 28 mls / 5.5 regular tampons / 2.3 super tampons 

  • POM FINGER GRIP PERIOD CUP

    Small - can hold 23 mls / 4.5 regular tampons / 2 super tampons

    Large - can hold 29 mls / almost 6 regular tampons / 2.5 super tampons
