ABOUT PERIOD UNDERWEAR
How do they work?
POM is specially designed and manufactured period underwear with state-of-the-art fabric technology to provide full protection and peace of mind during your period. The POM has 4 layers of specially constructed padding to absorb and protect.
The top layer is moisture-wicking, quickly absorbs liquid, plus has an anti-odour SilverClear® additive. The second layer holds the liquid, the third is the leak-proof layer which pushes the fluid back up. The fourth is the outside fabric either organic cotton or organic bamboo.
The combination of these 4 layers can absorb many tampons’ worth of blood depending on which absorbency you buy. You can also wear the period underwear for 8 to 12 hours depending on how light or heavy your flow is.
Does it feel like wearing a pad or nappy?
Not at all! POM period underwear is actually way thinner than a regular pad and the absorbency gusset is built into the underwear for really comfy wearing. They just feel like normal underwear!
Are they hygienic?
They are indeed! The absorbency technology mixed with the SilverClear® additive is a highly efficient antimicrobial, bactericidal and anti-odour solution.
Not to mention ever safer for you too compared to tampons and pads. Those traditional period products are not only made with a lot of plastic and contain microplastics that can enter your bloodstream. Wearing tampons for longer than 8 hours can put you at risk of getting toxic shock syndrome.
How often should I change?
You can wear your POMs for 8-12 hours but depending on your flow you might need to change more frequently. You will know when you need to change your POMs when the top layer feels slightly damp, meaning the absorbency gusset is full.
How do I choose the right one?
At POM we have 7 styles of period underwear and 2 styles of period swimwear plus a colour range and size range from 2XS to 4XL so hopefully you’ll be able to find the pair for you. In terms of choosing the right absorbency, we have 3 levels (1, 2 & 3 tampons worth) so just think about how heavy your flow is and pick accordingly.
Why are most POM products black?
There are two main reasons. Black is a good colour when dealing with blood; it won’t show stains and marks like most other colours. Secondly, black is a more environmentally friendly colour requiring less processing than other colours or prints.
WHAT TO WEAR AND WHEN
How do I choose the right absorbency product?
You just need to work out the right absorbency for your period and flow.
Most POM products are for a moderate flow level which will generally provide 8 hour leak proof protection. We recommend popping on a new pair of POM’s when the gusset padding begins to feel wet.
Because our technology has the top layer keeping you feel dry and the absorption of liquid is in the middle layers, you’ll only really notice the top layer becoming wet when the middle gusset is nearly or fully saturated.
How many pairs of POM should I get?
To work this out there are two key questions. What is your normal flow, and do you want to wash pairs of underwear during your cycle and re-use them during your same period?
During the first and heavy days you may find you need to change your POMs more (closer to 8 hours rather than 12). So we'd recommend getting 3-6 for those first days.
Then you can always wash those and keep using them for the rest of your period. Or you can get double that if you don't want to wash them as often.
What is a POM teen product?
The POM teen product is designed to ensure that tweens and teens have
absolute peace of mind when dealing with their periods. Stress free, no mess, little thought required, no risk of leakage during these really active years. They are perfect for girls starting their periods and the often irregular and erratic cycles in the early years. The Teen is designed for this stage of life.
POM’s Teen product fully and totally replaces the need for any other products such as tampons and pads. All you need is to pop on a pair of POM and get on with your life. POM aims to make it easy to get on with your life as normally as you can, whether school, parties, sport, sleepovers or heading to the beach. POM eliminates the period panic, no need to keep spare product in your school bag or purse; no need to check your dress for leaks.
POM teen product has exactly the same high technology in comfortable eco-friendly fabric, in designs and prints that suit a teen customer.
Can I swim in my POM?
We don’t recommend it; POM underwear hasn’t been designed for swimming. But POM swimmers have! POM has you covered for swimming with our swimwear. The POM swimwear uses specially designed fabrics made to do the job of providing confidence while swimming. Check out our swimwear

Can I play sport wearing my POM?
Absolutely! POM is designed for all ages, all body shapes, all flows in all situations. If you’re up for it, so is your POM.
Can I wear POM on my heavy days?
Of course, that’s a huge part of their appeal. POM is designed for super absorption, even our medium period undies hold 2 tampons worth. However, on your heavier days we have the boyleg which can hold 3 tampons worth.
Can everyone wear POM?
Of course! POM is designed for all ages, all body shapes, all flows. We've got 7 different styles with a size range from 2XS to 4XL so you can be sure to find something you love. POMs can also be used for light incontinence & postpartum bleeding.
Can I wear POM even if I’m not on my period?
Absolutely! Wear them because they’re comfortable or wear them just in case if you think you're period is coming soon. In fact, POM are designed for periods and every day wee leaks. So, if you ever have an issue of a spill if you laugh, sneeze or cough, fear not - pop on a pair of POMS.
Can I wear POM during and post pregnecy?
POM is perfect if you’re pregnant. POM is designed to absorb all sorts of things and we know with pregnancy that a whole lot of things happen and different things will come out. You’ll also find that POM is a best friend after pregnancy as well; your POMs are for Postpartum as well.
A ‘thong’, really – and I’m still protected?
Yep. Loads of people love a thong and it doesn’t need to change because you’re on your period. However, the POM thong is designed for light period days, so just don’t try wearing them on anything heavier than a light day. Or you could wear them for a shorter time with a workout session.

Are POM products Eco-Friendly?
The POM products have been developed to be a great reusable alternative to disposable menstruation products. By wearing POM there is no needs to ever use a tampon, pad or liner – ever. With the average woman using 10-12,000 sanitary products in their lifetime and with pads and tampons taking around 500-800 years to biodegrade, POM provides a reusable solution that will eliminate these non-environmental products.
POM is made from cotton or bamboo which are environmentally friendly products. Comfortable to wear, breathable natural fabrics.
Cotton is one of the easiest fabrics to decompose. In the right compost, the material should be gone in up to five months.
When your POM is too old and worn out for use as a period underwear, they can be re-used as cleaning cloths.
Also, our factory is OEKO-Tek accredited. That means our factory is certified to confirm the human-ecological safety of textile products from all stages of production (raw materials and fibres, yarns, fabrics, ready-to-use end products) along the textile value chain.
Who do we help with our donations?
For every 25 pairs of underwear we sell, we give a pair of free POM to help fight Period Poverty. So, with every pair of POM you buy, you are also personally helping to fight Period Poverty.
POM has partnered with the Jeevan Project to provide sanitary products and other goodies to female care leavers and they were looking for a more environmentally friendly and cost-saving product to give to the recipients of the packs so POM got involved.
Where is POM made?
To be able to make the high technology POM product we require complex technology and machinery. We rely on our manufacturing partner who are highly experienced in manufacturing period underwear and incontinence products. This manufacturing factory is based in China. We work directly with the factory and bring the products in directly to our UK & AUS warehouses. Also, our factory is OEKO-Tek accredited. That means our factory is certified to confirm the human-ecological safety of textile products from all stages of production (raw materials and fibres, yarns, fabrics, ready-to-use end products) along the textile value chain.
HOW TO USE & CARE
Can I wear my POM as soon as they arrive POM?
We know your keen and that’s great. But for your POM to give you it’s best results you need to give them a wash first; that will soften and activate the gusset. Once they’re dry and ready to go, give the crutch a good scrunch up and they’re ready to go.
Should I use POM as a back-up to a tampon?
You can but you certainly don't need to. Maybe when you’re trying POM for the first time using both might provide you with more peace of mind. But rest assured, your POM will be more leak-free than a tampon. We suggest instead of
using both, just try your POM at home or just at night. Usually after your first full period of wearing POM every day all day you will be a convert and never go back to tampons or pads.
How do I wash my POM period underwear?
Wash your POMs before you use them for the first time to activate the technology, from then on:
Step 1: Rinse in cold water after use <30°. Do not soak, just rinse until the water runs clear.
Step 3: Cold wash. Either in a washing machine or hand wash.
Step 4: Fabric softener, NO. This reduces product function and is not good for the planet.
Step 5: Hang dry, either on a line or drying rack – and best not to do it on or over a heater. NEVER tumble dry.

What do I do if my product is out of stock?
If this happens, we are so sorry! But we would love to hear what you are wanting so we can get it for you so please email us at hello@mypomstore.com if there is a product you'd like and we don't have it in stock.
What packaging does POM use?
Our POM product are hand picked and come packed in our recyclable paper bags. They are then put into our eco shipping bags which are made from sugar cane (the greenest material on the market) they are also fully recyclable and are carbon neutral (as the carbon dioxide taken from the atmosphere during the growing process, offsets the carbon dioxide emitted through produced and transportation).
What currency do you accept?
At the moment we are only selling in the UK and Australia therefore we are only accepting GBP & AUD.

Why a 60-Day Risk-Free Trial?
Having a good experience with POM is important to us. That’s why we offer a 60-day trial period for new customers.
We’ve made it 60 days, so you have heaps of time to decide, but also because we’d like you to try POM for 2 periods. Wearing POM during your period for the first time can just feel different, especially after using tampons. So sometimes it’s not that POM is wrong for you, it’s just very different.
What does the 60-Day Risk-Free Trial mean?
It means that you can trial one POM product within 60-days of purchase. Then if you decide it's not for you that's not a problem at all we will refund you for the products.
If you just purchased one POM product, you get to keep it. However, if you purchased multiple single items which are still unopened then you can return and get a refund, excluding shipping costs.

What happens if I bought a pack?
If you purchase a bundle pack as a first-time customer, only 1 used product will be eligible for a refund. All other items must comply with our faulty/not fit-for-purpose returns policy to be eligible for a refund.
However, you could give them to a friend or sister, they might love POM. But if you can’t think of anyone you can give them to, you can return them to us, and we will add them to our donation programme.

How to return your POM
Check that:
- This is the first time you have purchased from POM.
- It has been less than 60 days since you ordered the product.
- Print a copy of your order receipt and include it in your return bag with your POM product.
Then put your POM and a copy of your order receipt in a postbag and return them to us:

Don’t forget to send us a copy of your order receipt or we won’t have all the information we need to be able to process your refund.

Can I return faulty products?
If you find your product is faulty, not fit for purpose, or does not match the description of your order (it may be a different product, colour or size), you can return them to us for a full refund or exchange. Remember to just check your delivery against your order receipt, because the order receipt is exactly what you ordered.
- Within 30 days of purchase of the product, you may claim a refund.
- After the 30-day period, but within six months of purchase, you can claim a replacement. Where replacement is not possible, or the replacement does not resolve the fault, you are entitled to a refund.
If you believe your product is faulty, please contact our Customer Experience team at hello@mypomstore.com so we can assess, investigate, and resolve this issue for you. Please provide them with the following information:
- Your order receipt number.
- The POM product name of the affected item(s).
- A photo of the fault/s OR a description as to how the product is not fit for purpose or does not match the description.
Our Customer Experience team may require you to send back your products for inspection, and POM will bear the costs of the return if we agree to the return. Please do not post any faulty items back to us before our Customer Experience team advises you to do so. Our Customer Experience team will give you the details of our Freepost to make it easy for you to return the products. They’ll also work with you for a refund or an exchange.
What if I change my mind about my order?
No problem. If you simply change your mind and don’t want the POM you ordered, you can return them to us for a refund or credit. But they must be in a new and unused condition and must be returned to us within 14 days of receiving your product.
After 14 days, these products cannot be returned or refunded, except if they are not of satisfactory quality, as per our Faulty Product section.

We recommend that you use a tracked postal service and retain evidence of posting as POM can’t be held responsible for any lost or missing parcels. If we don’t receive your return, we will not be able to provide you with a refund or credit.
Cooling Off Period
Of course, these returns policy above is additional to and does not limit your statutory rights.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you always have the right to change your mind about your purchase and receive a refund at any time up to 14 calendar days after the day on which you receive the product.
